Recycled Yarn

There's a new button on the right side column of my blog.

Click on it for La Droguerie's latest offering ... yarn from 100% recycled fibers. My favorite yarn shop collects old knit sweaters from social organizations, discarded knitted goods from industrial clothing companies, sorts them by color, by material, then unravels the knitting. They test teh fibers to determine which ones have longevity for reuse, and for rewinding into new balls of knitting yarn. Each ball of yarn is organized to be composed of a mix of 38% wool and 22% cotton.

I have two balls of this recycled yarn but discovered too late that the finished goods must be handwashed or dry cleaned only. This makes it impractical for me to use for clothing or blankets, so I have to think of new ways to use the yarn, as a home accessory or décor which does not need washing. Any ideas?
